Achias, baptized as Aachijmijus, A possible record has also been found for his
other son, Jan

*This record is conjectural as the mother’s maiden name is
different. However, Jan’s patronymic/surname,
though varied, is almost unique. The name Gueckesz (or other variations) is not used by other families within 30 years of Jan’s children’s
baptisms. There is no marriage record
for this couple, by any variation of Guecke, nor other baptismal records for
their children. The date of Jan's baptism fits well with what is known of his life later in New Amsterdam.
